Summary: it is a known fact that the Oil & Gas sector is booming, but in this case we would like to talk about coupling manufacturing. Innovation in the machine tool industry has led to faster machining of couplings. Prior to machining, the part must be cut to the correct length and mostly this is done with band saw machines. DANOBAT offers different solutions to the coupling manufacturing industry and provides its service to many big players in this field. One of the biggest drawbacks is that the carbide blades do not work well in this application as carbide inserts are too fragile. Mainly because of this reason, the machine is extremely important to achieve high production values.

Provided Solution: DANOBAT has developed a solution for cutting the coupling. On one hand, the design of the machine and on the other the zone cutting technology, which is of major importance for cutting tubes. Why? Since there is a wide variety of cutting surfaces on pipes, the ring may break. The cutting section of the tube may be solid the first 305 mm, but in the middle of the pipe the cutting section may be as small as 12 mm.

Our band saw machines constantly read the section that is being cut and the cutting parameters are adjusted accordingly so that the cutting operation can be performed 2 or 3 times faster whilst maintaining good blade life.

In all the cases, bimetal blades, with M42 quality are used.
